Weimar. Fourteen streets named after fourteen men. Their life stories intersect at a place only a few kilometers away from the “City of Classicism”: In 1937, the KZ Buchenwald was built on the Ettersberg near Weimar – it was one of the largest concentration camps in Nazi Germany.

“Namensgeber” is an atlas of these fourteen streets in Weimar. It documents their appearance, history, length, position and shows streets of the same name on a map of Germany. Every registry is followed by a biographical sketch.

All fourteen men were prisoners of the Buchenwald Concentration Camp, but: What happened before? And what became of the ones who survived?

Fourteen reports on resistance.
